A Season for Romance - Romantic Speculative Flash Fiction Anthologies

All the stories are focused on the beginning of a budding relationship. There’s a fair variety of both straight and gay relationships. This collection also contains everything from love potions to magical soulmates bound by the threads of fate to Catgirls. Also, the ladies and men in this collection are bold and talented but not without insecurities or doubts, hopes, and fears; there are a lot of vulnerabilities. There’s also a variety: some of the pov characters jump right in while others are far more hesitant to make the first move let alone the plunge. Honestly, I could go on and on. There are a lot of great pieces here, by very talented writers. I’d recommend this book for the lover and fighter in us all and welcome anyone to give this book a try.

This collection is sweet! The stories all focus on the first blush of love and they are all unique but all tied with the universal feeling of first romantic connection. I enjoyed it very much and will definitely check out other works by these talented authors.

A Season for Romance: Summer Simmer is a diverse and inclusive romance anthology that features all new to me authors. I really enjoyed this book and am so glad I gave it a try. Each short story felt like a brief moment in time that I got to share with the characters; each forbidden love, sweet glance, shy smile, gentle touch, the not knowing what will happen if they express their true feelings, the I know you like me so ask me out already, each magical moment, happy ending, and new beginning. This book can be enjoyed over time or all at once. It is a book I know I will be enjoying again and again. Definitely recommend and I look forward to discovering more from these amazing authors.

I really enjoyed this book, which I would, for the most part, call a 'sampler' book of short stories that are tied in to the writers' main stories in some way (there are some standalone stories as well). I found the stories to have a nice variety from sci-fi to fantasy, and that the stories, though not overly long, were satisfying and well-constructed. I would recommend this to any of my reader friends who wanted little bonbon-esque stories they could devour whenever they had a couple of spare minutes to read.

A great introduction to new and up and coming authors of sweet romance and romantacy (love that term)...All were well-written and well-edited. A few stood out to me - Seduction by Naito Diamond which was quirky and fun and led the reader in a totally unexpected direct; Cassia Hall's Do You Hear the Mermaid's Singing, because - mermaids!; A Confession by Sarah Rajah, which was a really sweet love story with a well-thought out premise; and Natalie Holden's See the Real Me, which reminded me a lot of classic scifi, but with a romantic twist. Definitely worth a read. Would recommend.
